Mednick focuses on the founding of the IPO and the important roles played by Bronislaw Huberman & Arturo Toscanini. He also takes us through the five compositions that were featured at the first IPO concert in 1936:
● Gioacchino Rossini - La Scala di Seta (The Silken Ladder)
● Franz Schubert - Symphony 8 (Unfinished)
● Johannes Brahms - Symphony 2
● Felix Mendelssohn - A Midsummer Night’s Dream
● Carl Maria von Weber - Oberon Overture
Although this is mostly about music, there are a lot of stamps.
